Stainless steel is extremely corrosion resistant. It will not react with the tannins that are prevalent in some woods, primarily oak and western red cedar, preventing nasty black stains on the finished item. Stainless steel has a lot more "give" than carbon steel and will therefore be more forgiving on seasonal timber movements (shrinkage and expansion) because they can "give" a little with those seasonal movements.
Our Stainless Steel cladding screws are self-drilling with a no.2 head and have nibs under the screw head to help aid in countersinking. Equipped with a T10 torx head, these screws allow maximum torque applied with minimum risk of rounding out.
